The replanting of the historic Wellingtonia Avenue at Monteviot is dedicated to the memory of The Rt Hon Lord Johnston PC QC, Lothian Family trustee from 1979 to 2008. The final tree was planted by Lady Johnston on 22nd March 2010, seen here with Lord Lothian and Mr Colin Strang Steel
In June 2010 the farm tenants were entertained to lunch by Lord and Lady Lothian

Resting place of Gen Sir Thomas Monteath Douglas, K.C.B. 1787-1868, of Stonebyres, Lanarkshire who married the only surviving daughter of Sir William Monteath Scott of Ancrum. He served with the 35th Bengal Infantry for 40 years. The building was completed before his death and a date of 1864 is inscribed on a corner stone. An inscription above the door reads:-
